Getting started
How do I open a label?
- Mac: drag a PDF or image onto the window, use Choose File, or choose a folder (such as Downloads) to browse in the sidebar.
- iPhone and iPad: use Choose File, browse a folder, or share the label straight into Label Magic from Mail, Safari or Files.
Label Magic opens PDFs and PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF and BMP images.
The crop isn't quite right
Drag the corner handles to choose exactly which part of the page becomes the label. Cropping is free-form, not locked to 4×6. “Reset to Detected Label” goes back to the automatic crop.
The label is sideways
Label Magic turns most sideways labels upright automatically. If one comes out wrong, use the Left and Right buttons above the print preview.
What does smart filtering do?
When you browse a folder, smart filtering hides files that don't look like shipping labels. It looks for a large barcode or a printed cut line. Turn it off to see every PDF and image in the folder.
Printing
Which printers are supported?
On Mac, any printer your Mac can print to, including 4×6 thermal label printers such as MUNBYN, Rollo and Zebra. On iPhone and iPad, the printer must support AirPrint.
Prints look blurry or have jagged edges
Open Settings and set Printer resolution to your printer's native resolution, which is on its spec sheet. Most 4×6 thermal printers are 203 DPI; some are 300 DPI. A mismatch forces the print system to resize the label, which softens text and barcodes.
The label prints at the wrong size
Check Label size in Settings. Auto picks 4×6 when your printer looks like a dedicated label printer; otherwise choose 4×6 in, 100×150 mm, A6 or 4×4 in yourself. If you're printing on a regular printer, Label Magic shrinks the label slightly to fit inside the area the printer can reach, so nothing is cut off.
It keeps choosing the wrong printer (Mac)
Pick your label printer once in the print dialog. Label Magic remembers it next time.
How do I print several labels at once?
Browse the folder that contains them and use the printer button at the top of the list. Every listed label prints as one job, each with its automatic crop.
Free labels and purchases
How do the free labels work?
Your first 10 printed labels are free. A label only counts when the print job is actually sent, not if you cancel the print dialog. After that, a one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited printing. Opening and previewing labels is always free.
I bought Label Magic before it was free
Printing is already unlocked for you. If it isn't, make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with, then open Settings and tap Restore Purchase.
I bought the unlock on another device
Open Settings and use Restore Purchase while signed in with the same Apple Account.
Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Tracking and history
How does Track work?
Label Magic reads the tracking number from the label's barcode and opens the carrier's tracking page: USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon or OnTrac. Every label you open is listed in Label History so you can track it later.
Still stuck? Email support@labelmagic.app with your device, the printer you're using and, if you can, the label file.
